Vitamin C is an organic compound, which is chemically named L - (+) - Suarabic type 2,3,4,5,6-pentahydroxy-2-hexeno-4-lactone, also known as L-ascorbic acid, with molecular formula of C6H8O6 and molecular weight of 176.12.

Vitamin C is a monoclinic crystal, usually in the form of a sheet, sometimes in the form of a needle, which participates in the complex metabolic process of the body, can promote growth and enhance resistance to disease, and can be used as a nutritional supplement, antioxidant, and wheat flour improver. However, excessive supplementation of vitamin C is not beneficial to health, but harmful, so it needs to be used reasonably. Vitamin C is used as analytical reagent in the laboratory, such as reducing agent and masking agent.
