Potassium borofluoroate is white powder or gel crystal, slightly soluble in water, and can be used as flux in welding.

Purpose:
1. It can be used as a flux in welding, as well as raw material for manufacturing other fluoride salts, and also for electrochemical processes and reagents.

2. It is used as a flux for hot welding and brazing, as a raw material for aluminum magnesium casting to produce boron-containing alloys, and as a filler in heavy grinding wheels with resin as abrasive adhesive. When welding and fusing silver, gold and stainless steel, it can remove the dregs of light metals. It is the raw material for preparing other fluoride salts. It is also used in electrochemical processes and reagents.

3. Potassium borofluorite is used in low chromic acid chromium plating and lead-tin alloy electrolyte. Industrial products contain 95% potassium borofluorite. The content of chloride and sulfate in industrial products potassium borofluorite used for chromium plating shall be controlled. Potassium borofluorite can also be used for texture etching of aluminum alloys and etching of titanium and silicon wafers.
