Xylitol is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C5H12O5. It is native to Finland and is a natural sweetener extracted from plant materials such as birch, oak, corncob, and bagasse. The sweetness of xylitol is equivalent to that of sucrose. When dissolved in water, it can absorb a large amount of heat.
